Another week captivated by blockbuster trades. We saw marque players find new homes, hopes realized, and fruits of thy labor granted by divine powers. We turn to the hands of the Alpha and Omega. We seek refuge in his love and grace. We made deals that we hope and pray work out because God forbid we are the laughing stock amongst our “friends”. In Luke 18: 18-30, the story of Hope Forgives: Unforgiving Servant. This group is unforgiving and every move is made with great scrutiny. Rosters died and were born into eternal life, met with depth and stardom. Make a good deal and I’ll shake your hand, kiss you on both cheeks, and leave the door open for business down the road. Trade rape me and may parts from the Book of Revelations be realized upon you, including the visit of one slain goat who’s voice sounded like a dragons. This is your week 4 sermon. Let’s dive in.
Ephesian: 4-32: Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. I cannot believe I am leading with this, but Kareem Hunt has emerged as the RB1 in KC. He showed explosiveness and the ability to run down hill which led him to an astounding 43% of the snaps, 17 total touches for 85 yards and 1 very happy Austin Bossolt. He gained almost as many yards as dollars that Boss paid for him. Not a trade, but worth calling out. Last weeks article may seemed like a hit piece and olive branches were exchanged. A risky FA acquisition met with great scrutiny that may pay off.
Proverbs 21:5 tells us that “the plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to want.”
–Jordan Addison for Isaiah Likely:
Jordan Addison had a huge welcome home party. 3 catches on 4 targets for 72 yards and a score. Pray harder next time, Zack. Because that 22.9 points were on the bench. This trade seemed like a head scratcher, I get it. Especially since the Ravens have clearly established a run game heavier than wad of grizzly wintergreen long cut in Moxie’s bottom lip. But bigger moves were on the horizon and a TE needed to be spared. Jordan Addison had to be spared so that one roster could live. A valiant sacrifice.
Another excerpt from the book of Proverbs. 27-17, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”
–Jahmyr Gibbs, Tyler Lockett, Andrei Iosivas for Jakobi Meyers, Tee Higgins, Jordan Mason
This seems like a pretty fair trade right? Both teems got deeper but were they forsaken in the eyes of the Lord? Zack got 34 points this week from that trade. Stars aligned for Tyler Lockett and Gibbs as they combined for 31 points between them. All of that star power resulted in the blessed Mother Mary birthing a big fat L for you. How about you, Legacy? Did you pray away the sins of your past and find salvation? How about a whopping 51 points from that trade last week!! In the long run this will obviously help you. You were spared on the cross right next to the Son. You live to fight another week.
Judges 16:4–30 “He was captured, blinded, and enslaved by the Philistines, but in the end God granted Samson his revenge; through the return of his old strength, he demolished the great Philistine temple of the god Dagon, at Gaza, destroying his captors and himself”
–Jonathan Taylor and DJ Moore for Brian Robinson Jr. , Chris Godwin and Gabe Davis
Luke adds star power to an already well rounded team. That star power netted him 31 points and a glimpse of the pearly white gates. But that was until he betrayed the Holy Father and was cast into a treacherous situation in which led to his demise. Luke went down but not without taking Zack with him. Zack netted 38 points from this trade, but the Luke’s great strength brought the pillars down and destroyed them both.
Romans 10: 9-10 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
—Cooper Kupp, DeVontay Smith, Chubba Hubbard, Khalil Shakir, Baker Mayfield for Brandin Cooks, Alexander Mattison, AJ Brown, Anthony Richardson
Salvation…. I’ve inherited the bones of what could be a good roster. It took luck to be able to accumulate assets that would surely deliver me to the pearly white gates. While Caden did pick up the win last week, it feels as if he continues to prove himself worthy to the Author of Creation, as we have all been subject to numerous trade requests. Caden appears to be on full tilt.
