Life Is A Box Of Chocolates

This is it. This is what a “Boom or Bust” roster looks like. Unknowns in every corner. This roster is about as uncertain as the rumors of Baker getting a BJ in a black Escalade in a Cheesecake Factory parking lot. Personally, I’m one for hot takes and shock factor one-liners, and that’s exactly what my roster is radiating. Let’s take off the rose colored glasses and look under the hood.

Anthony Richardson has played 17 (!!!!!) total games since high school. He’s the best player in NFL history that nobody knows anything about. The ceiling is high but the floor is lower relative to the height of his ceiling. We could be starting down the barrel if Jamarcus Russell caliber bust, or a sophomore campaign akin to Burrow.

Malik Nabers. If you watched Hard Knocks, he willingly admitted to being frustrated if he’s not getting the ball. I think the Giants coaches are good, I like their GM, but they got fools gold in Daniel Jones. I know, we know, he’ll, they even might know it. I just don’t know if DJ can force feed the ball effectively enough to Malik like how Eli did with OBJ.

Najee Harris…. If 2.9 YPC was a living person. Contract year or not, Jaylen Warren is the star of the (mediocre) show. Best case he vultures TD’s, but I just don’t see a lot of upside here.

Alvin Kamara. Now that’s a spicy meatball. Runs the Saints offense and with a playoff caliber team around him (QB is still competent), I think he could be in for a big year. The offense just needs to do its job in keeping the defense honest so that they can’t just key in on Kamara the whole time and boy do they have the weapons to do it. Lot of upside, high-ish floor.

AJ Brown might have 1500+ yards especially with Devontae Smith getting stripped of his captaincy. It’s the AJ Brown show in Philly. Jalen Hurts got paid $255mm for throwing for 28-15 basically. He can still feed the ball effectively to Brown.

Puka, stud. Proved that he could still dominate alongside Kupp. Just keep Stanford healthy because if he goes down, boy is it tough sledding.

George Pickens… cc the photo of the Bugatti parked next to a mobile home. If Russell Wilson can be as effective as a passer as he was in Denver last year, it’s going to work out really well. Have we seen any indication that Russ will be that good? No. Russ also has been taking heat from the Steelers staff for taking sacks in the pre season. Come to find out Russ is among the most sacked QB’s in the league, not to do with the o-line, but more so to do with him. Combine that with Steelers offense woes and drama this offseason, it’s not giving anyone the warm and fuzzies.

Who knows what’s going to happen here. Lots of narratives with my players and their teams. The good news is that they’re integral to the success of their teams and will need to produce for their teams to make a run. Their teams unfortunately are all highly flammable and could implode at any point in time.
